Don’t End Summer Unprepared!

It’s time to start planning because soon you’ll have to put away Summery things. Odds are your family’s not done with outdoor toys and summer clothes just yet, but that’s why now is the perfect time to get ready! Don’t wait until fall starts to plan for storing your family’s summer stuff. Thirty-One has some great solutions to make storage neat, simple, and effective.

Why worry about hunting a bulky box of summer clothes out of the attic or garage next year when you can just slide a discreet Thirty-One Oversized Storage Organizer under each of your kids’ beds?  Use the Oversized Storage Organizer to keep summer clothes from being lost in the bottoms of closets. You can neatly fit lots of summer clothes in a single organizer, and since it’s only 8” tall, it slides under almost any bed!

You’ve probably got some summer toys to put away, too: outdoor nets, rackets, balls, and swimming accessories. Don’t shove them into a plastic storage bin and hope that nothing makes a hole in your inflatable raft or tube. Smaller inflatables and toys can fit into a Zipper Pouch – like arm floaties, diving sticks, etc. For larger inflatable pool rafts or lounges, the Expand-a-tote Day Extender expands to 20.5”high by 17” wide with 8.5” deep with a zip closure. Be sure that your inflatable pool items are completely dry and deflated before you start folding or rolling them up. Not only are you protecting your pool or beach toys for next year, but your storage space will look much more attractive filled with Thirty-One prints!

Get a Donate Bag.

While you start getting your home organized for the upcoming school year, remember to donate things that you and your family no longer need or want. Try setting up a Large Utility Tote in your laundry room or the garage. Tell your family that it is your “Donation Bag.” When it gets full, transfer the contents to a plastic bag and drop it off at your local donation center.  As your kids get new school clothes, have them clean out anything from last year that doesn’t fit or that they just don’t like to wear.  Don’t forget to check your closet too!

Summer Savvy

Get your kids ready for those trips to their Grandparents’ house during summer vacation!

A Square Utility Tote can help grandparents cope with toys and projects that will be temporarily filling up their home. This solution will also help prevent “where’s my toy?” syndrome because your kids will have a central location to keep their games and toys during their visit.

This will also help keep their Grandparents’ home from looking like hurricane-grandkids demolished it.

While backpacks like the Upperclassman Backpack are great suitcases for younger children, teens & preteens might prefer something with a little more space like the Retro Metro Weekender or City Weekender Tote.

Send along a Storage Tote to act as their travel hamper – keeping dirty clothes away from the clean ones even far from home.

For the youngest summer visitors, unpacking into unfamiliar closets and chest of drawers can be a hassle. Send your little ones to Grandma’s already unpacked! Just pack their clothes in the Oversized Storage Organizer. When they get to Grandma’s house, they just slide it under the bed. Now Grandma won’t have to dig through a backpack to find socks the next morning!

In case of swimming, include an Expand-A-Tote Day Extender  with all your kids’ swimming needs like deflated intertubes and floaties, nose plugs, waterproof sun block, etc.

Add in the All-In-One Organizer with important things that need to travel with your kids or items that their Grandparents might not have for them: medication & instructions, waterproof sun block, kiddies’ Band-Aids, Insect repellent, and anything else you can think to add. Keeping these items in a single tote can keep things running smoothly at Grandma’s house – and save Grandma a lot frustration later.

These products make the trip easier for everyone and let them focus on the time they spend together – not trying to sort out whose sock that is and where are the pool toys. Isn’t that what you really want when your kids stay with their grandparents – for your kids and your parents to play together and connect?

New Year’s Party Survival

Entertain the easy way this year!

The New Year is just days away! Let Thirty-One help you get ready in style!

Fill an All-In-One Organizer with your party favors! This makes it easy for someone to pass the favors and keeps them looking neat the whole night! Or dangle a Littles Carry-All Caddy full of favors off your arm like a purse so you can pass them out as you greet your guests!

Party Games
Don’t let boredom send your guests to other parties!

Fill an Organizing Utility Tote or Storage Tote with supplies for your favorite party games to keep everyone having a great time!  For New Year’s Eve, try 2012 Fortune Telling — Create a list of funny fortunes (like you’d find in fortune cookies) and cut them out. Fold the slips and let guests draw their fortune from the Littles Carry-All Caddy.  As they draw, read the fortunes out loud, and enjoy the laughter!

Keep it Clean!
Don’t lug around a chunky trash can!

Cleaning up accidents and trouble spots as they happen will make your guests more comfortable than navigating around spills and trash.  Beside your good table, line a Tall Utility Bin with a heavy duty trash bag so you can have a trash bag that’s easy to find but still looks great!

Networking At the Party
You’re going to have a good time, but don’t be unprepared to make new contacts.

Five Pocket Clutch take a clutch that’s both cute and functional! Whether a social gathering of friends or a work party, you’re likely to meet a few new people.  Have your business cards at your fingertips and be able to keep their cards organized as you receive them.  Add a Wristlet Strap to keep the clutch dangling comfortably from your wrist instead of tucking it constantly under your arm or laying it on a table.

If you’re going out for New Year’s Eve this year, stay safe and have a great time!

Happy New Year!
